Down the TBR hole #6

down the TBR hole

Down the TBR Hole is a weekly meme hosted by Lia @Lost in a Story. These are the rules:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

(I’m doing a softcore version of this, and some books will end up on my “maybe” shelf!)

TBR count after the last post: 495

Current TBR count: 505

No I do not know how I ended up adding 10 more books in the span of only one week leave me alone.

Like seriously imagine if I wasn’t actively removing books from my TBR what a much bigger mess this would be??

The Griever’s Mark by Katherine Hurley

Ummm this has some sort of slavery theme and none of my friends have read it and I honestly don’t trust slave theme in the hands of most people so this is a hard pass

First Year by Rachel E. Carter

It sounds very RPG-y which is nice but I know I’ll never get to it

Written in Red by Anne Bishop

I’ve never been very interested in paranormal-werewolves-vampires so I have no idea how this ended up in my TBR lmao

The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers

As my friend Em put it, this is about gays in space and I don’t think I need to know more

Special Forces – Soldiers by Aleksandr Voinov

This was free on the author’s website so I actually own it but honestly none of my GR friends have read it and the huge amount of p*rn images used in the first GR community reviews has put me off it*

*on this note can people please please plEASE stop fetishizing queer people and queer relationships and using p0rn gifs in their reviews!!! Thanks!!!!!!!!

Blood of the Earth by Faith Hunter

Enough with the shapeshifters already

Nemesis by Brendan Reichs

Eh. The blurb didn’t make me want to read it tbh

Sing Sweet Nightingale by Erica Cameron

I don’t even know what to say about this except that 2016 me was on a roll of adding books of genres she actually had no interest in, good job

Heart of Ice by K.M. Shea

Don’t care

Hereditary by Jane Washington

I will say this cover is so pretty WTF but apparently it’s about fae or something and I don’t really care about faes anymore unless they’re written by Holly Black so

WOW that was a slaughter, 9/10 books removed?? This feels nice.

Have you read any of these? Do you agree with my decisions to keep/remove them from my TBR?

  1. Hahaha, you should have titled this post “Silvia slaughters her TBR” 😂 it was kind of funny to read this. But I agree with you on all of these, so yeah! ❤
