WWW Wednesday #14

WWW Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. The Ws are the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you plan on reading next?

🎧 Vagabonds by Hao Jingfang   —  audiobook ARC // look at me, I’m finally reading something that isn’t a reread or a short story or fanfiction! It’s none other than this 650 pages sci-fi behemoth. I’m reading this as a buddy read with my friend Acqua and hopefully we’ll be able to stick to it! I already read about 10% so far and it seems to be kind of introspective and slow, but that’s exactly the sort of pace I don’t mind in an audiobook.

I’m not going to talk about any specific title in this post, but lately I’ve challenged myself to read one short story a day every day, initially it was just a way to make myself read and get rid of both some stuff on my TBR and some of the open tabs on my phone (I…have a problem), then I both kept finding new short stories that I want to read and I also got used to it and want to round everything up in a post with a nice number, like, I read X short stories in X days, except X doesn’t sound good if it’s not a round number or something like that. So I’ve been finishing a lot of those lately and I will talk about them in a separate post, uh, eventually.

🎧 Network Effect by Martha Wells   —  audiobook // I can’t say if I’m going to read something else before this, but this is my next planned audiobook read. I preordered it because I love the Murderbot novellas and it’s finally getting a full length novel! It’s literally one of my most anticipated books of all year and I can’t wait to get back into this world.

  1. I want to listen to the rest of the murderbot books but found out the only way I can get them is either a Scribd subscription or through Audible – sigh. I think I’ll get the 30 day Scribd free trail and hope for the best. 😀

    1. ohh, I used the scribd 30 days trial to catch up on another series and it’s definitely worth it, especially now that they are offering a free trial without having to sign up with a credit card! I hope you can finish that series soon, it’s so good!

  2. I’ve just finished the Second book in the murderbot diaries and I loved it. I cannot wait to read Network Effect- I’m so excited to see Murderbot in a full length novel!

Good luck with your buddy read. I hope you both enjoy the book☺️💜
